What vaccines does my puppy need?

Typical vaccines we include in our puppy packages include Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza (DHPP), Bordetella, Leptospirosis and Rabies. If you’re interested in creating a vaccination plan for your pet, please contact us at 905-690-0040.

When should my pet receive these vaccines?

We recommend the following vaccination schedule for your pet:

  • 8 week vaccination: Includes a full physical examination, required vaccinations (DHPP), nail trim, fecal analysis, puppy information kit, and nutritional consultation.
  • 12 week vaccination: Includes a full physical examination, required vaccines (Leptospirosis/DHPP), nail trim, and nutritional consultation.
  • 16 week vaccination: Includes a full physical examination, required vaccines (Leptospirosis/DHPP/Rabies/Bordetella), nail trim, and nutritional consultation.
  • 19 week vaccination: Pre-surgical physical examination, required vaccines (Bordetella), nail trim, fecal analysis.

Why does my puppy need a vaccine at 19-weeks old?

Our clinic provides a 19-week vaccine booster that acts as a final vaccination. We added this booster because we see a lot of Bordetella in dogs. We want to ensure our patients are properly vaccinated and protected. This 19-week booster also allows us to assess your puppy when they’re closer to 6-months-old, allowing us to discuss their upcoming spay or neuter.
